Partner with Giving World to meet the new Social Value Model
The government launched its Social Value Model a few weeks ago. Businesses who are seeking to win government work must now set out how they will also deliver to their social value priorities.
The Value Model is especially focused on the Environment and Levelling up the UK.
Value for money will still be paramount, but a bidder's social value score will be incorporated into assessment of contracts.
The social value model that the governmental departments will assess contracts on includes:
- Supporting COVID-19 recovery, including helping local communities manage and recover from the impact of COVID
- Tackling economic inequality, including creating new businesses, jobs and skills, as well as increasing supply chain resilience
- Fighting climate change and reducing waste
- Driving equal opportunity, including reducing the disability employment gap and tackling workforce inequality Improving health and wellbeing and community integration
Government has tremendous buying power, spending £49bn each year on contracts for vital public services. Value to the taxpayer should lie at the heart of our procurement decisions.
We can help businesses, especially small business, who might not have the capacity or resources to demonstrate the Value Model, by partnering with us to deliver.
Covid 19 Recovery - By partnering with us and giving us your business surplus and end of line stock; we will deliver to front line services dealing with the fall out of Covid 19 on communities and families.
We have seen over a 400% increase in need since lockdown. We expect to see numbers rise again as the furlough scheme winds down. Families who have never been referred for help before are using our household essentials, toiletries, bedding, nappies and personal hygiene products.
Reducing Climate Change and Reducing Waste - Last year we saved over a million items from landfill, that were distributed to almost half a million disadvantaged people in the UK. Saving the equivalent in emissions of over over 2 billion plastic bags.
By partnering with us, we can provide you data to support your bid.
Tackling economic inequality & levelling the UK:
By providing essential goods right at the time of need, we are helping families stay afloat, stop them getting into crisis, making incomes stretch further and supporting stability in the home. We are actively providing interventions to prevent families slipping below the poverty threshold.
Driving equal opportunity, including reducing the disability employment gap and tackling workforce inequality Improving health and wellbeing and community integration - We run skills workshops for people with complex needs. They are 8 week courses, where our cohorts learn to get the bus for the first time, learn to count to 20 for the first time, and make a friend for the very first time.
After the 8 weeks we host mostly self organised groups to continue with their friendship groups, continually growing in confidence.
